SMRA experts are particularly interested in the
cross-sectional documentation of copper alloy objects with surface flaking.
This comparison is possible thanks to the new version of the "Find
similar" function under the "By stratigraphy representation"
search engine. This exercise is also an opportunity to test the relevance of
the comparison between strata. Discussions ensued on how to present the results
so that they are understandable to the different professions involved.
Following the discussions, an archaeological object with a golden appearance was documented. The appearance of this corrosion is particularly interesting, as it seems to have developed after the excavation. No similar object is present in the database, allowing a convincing comparison. The object is therefore included in a new MiCorr sheet for future research.
